Just the
Facts…Romney
Debbie Lewis, October 9, 2012
The first Presidential
debate between the 2012 “nominees” is over.
President Obama and Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney went head to
head. Depending on who’s
telling the story, Romney did quite well, while Obama didn’t seem to be
on his game. Regardless of
what people think they witnessed during this debate, Romney is a status
quo politician. He says what he needs to say, when he needs to say
it and changes his mind regularly.
These are the facts…
Romney helped build the Massachusetts State mandatory health care plan
that was used as the model for Obamacare. When it's convenient, he
says he had no choice but to support the plan in a state that is
predominantly Democratic. Depending on who he is addressing, he says
he is proud of what his state accomplished and hoped it would be a model
for the nation. And that’s exactly what it became.
He has also said he supports the health care mandate, which is
unconstitutional on its face.
Not that it should be a Federal issue, but on abortion, and again when
convenient, he says he supports a woman's right to choose, and then, he
says he is pro life and never said any such thing.
On gun control, he has said he supports tough gun laws, and then when
convenient says he won't support any gun control legislation.
Romney refused to take a position on the Bush era tax cuts, then, when
convenient, says he supported them.
As governor of Massachusetts, Romney raised taxes and spent BIG.
Romney was a HUGE supporter of the Wall Street bailouts.
In the 2008 Presidential campaign, Romney introduced his own $250 billion
stimulus plan instead of supporting government spending cuts. Much
less than the Obama Stimulus plan, but a stimulus plan none-the-less,
instead of a plan to cut government spending.
Maybe one of the most disturbing things liberty loving American’s should
be concerned about, though, is Romney’s support of Obama's decision on
the recent NDAA that includes the "indefinite detention"
language in it...making it legal, with no hard proof, that if an American
Citizen is thought to be a terrorist, he can be stripped of all rights to
trials and to plead his case. This
is one of the VERY reasons our Founding Fathers put the 6th through 8th
Amendments in the Bill of Rights. I suggest you look up the Star
Chamber proceedings...And, this topic is actually covered in the William
Lewis Film, Blood of
Patriots.
So, tell me who’s the better candidate?
Obama and Romney are cut from the same political cloth.
They are both status quo politicians, even though their rhetoric
would suggest otherwise. If
my memory serves me, the status quo hasn’t helped or served us well the
past 50 or more years. Einstein
said insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting
different results. Why is the
population of this country still defending and trying to elect they same
type representation? Are they
all insane? Maybe we should
take a clue from the international cult classic, Washington,
You’re Fired, and start issuing pink slips all around!
